ALL OVER FLORAL ATC SWAP

My flower project was a success! It looks great. I photographed the steps to show you:

1. Rough sketch of flowers all over the page, add some little bugs, butterflies, dragonflies, etc.

2. Paint it "loosely" in watercolor. Staying in the lines does not matter here.

3. After it is dry, line everything in black ink. No need to be exact! Do not worry about following the pencil lines, they will become shadow, and the paint is meant to be loose and flowing outside of the lines.

4. Embellish in metallics, sparkle, whatever you choose, or skip this little extra step, up to you.

5. If you use a 5 x 7 piece of paper you can now divide it into 4 equal pieces and you will have 4 ATCs. I used a 6 x 12 piece of paper and cut it with my Fiskars which gave me 2 bookmarks, 4 inchies, and 6 ATCs.

Such a fun project! I want to do it again very soon!

ALL OVER PATTERNS CREATE AMAZING ACEOS!

I used the All Over Flower technique three more times! The first time I made larger, much looser flowers. This cut my time in half, and the look I got is a more free and fluid appearance.

Next I tried hearts. First I painted some very loose watercolor hearts and then I did simple tangles and doodles all over them,  finishing off with touches of metallic and stardust pens.
Then I tried some simple palms with splashes of color behind them. The effect is different in every ACEO. Sometimes the blue looks like sky and sometimes it looks like water, and the pink and yellow sometimes resemble a sunset and other times resemble sand. This technique is fun and simple with an impressive result!

DON'T LEAF ME BEHIND...

This is an actual Seagrape leaf and is about 2 x 3 inches in size. I applied gesso and then used watercolor and pen to draw on the dogs who are once again Gatsby and Guinness (I am partial to them, lol). I gifted this to my client for a recent commission I received from her. I am planning on doing some more dogs in this style because they are comical and so much fun!

JUST CLOWNING AROUND

Both of these clowns are on Altered Rolodex cards and were done for a swap.
They were challenging and fun!
I learned a valuable lesson while posting these, apparently not all people like clowns, haha. These guys are happy and not at all like It.

LIFE'S A BEACH!

The top one is very small! Only 2x2 inches, and was traded off in a swap. The bottom one is an ATC, 2.5 x 3.5 inches in diameter. Both a lot of fun to do and I love the happy feeling of them both.

GATSBY GOES TO THE BEACH

One of my favorite dogs of all time! Gatsby, a Chinese Crested, is all set for a day at the beach! Faber Castell pencil and ink. SOLD!

OH! NOW EYE SEE!

These are a study in eyes that I did on 2x2 bristol board in Faber Castell pencil and ink. The top picture is an owl eye, and the bottom is a pig's eye. Both were traded off in a swap.
I have been commissioned to do a couple more eyes, so stay tuned to see those results!

LUKEY THE MOLUCCAN

Another altered Rolodex. This is pen and Faber Castell pencil on a Rolodex card which was played in a Make Me Happy game.

ALICE IN WONDERLAND SERIES

My ongoing project of creating Alice in Wonderland in my unique style.
All of them are ACEO size, and there are two remaining pieces to be completed, The March Hare and The Tea Party, which will finish the collection.

DOGS CAN FLY!

What a riot! I love to paint dog fairies! This was an altered Rolodex card swap.
I hope whoever gets it loves it.

TAKING YOUR PET FROM FABULOUS TO FANTABULOUS!

I thought it would be fun to show you some of the commissions I have done of my client's beloved pets. I love fantasy and stepping outside of the box when it comes to portraiture, and my work takes pets of all kinds from fabulous to fantabulous, creating a fun conversation piece that is sure to bring smiles to everyone who sees it.

GATSBY AND GUINNESS VISIT THE BLARNEY CASTLE

These adorable guys were a commission for a couple out in California. The characters are based on their own Chinese Crested dog children. I had a great time painting this one as I always had a chuckle in my heart. It is acrylic on 8x8 canvas.
